Why Are Farmers Switching to Mobile Biomass Pellet Machines for On-Site Fuel Production?

2025-07-01

A Field Practice that Turns Farmland Waste into a "mobile Gold mine"

In a cornfield in Shangshui County, Zhoukou City, Henan Province, Wang Jianguo, a farm machinery operator, is using a remote control to direct a blue and white device. With the roar of the machine, the crushed corn stalks were "swallowed" into the feeding port. Three minutes later, brown particles with a diameter of 6 millimeters continuously gushed out from the discharging port. These granules can be bagged and sold to livestock farms, earning 400 yuan per ton. Wang Jianguo patted the "JINRUIJIAJIA" sign on the machine and said, "It's much more cost-effective than taking the straw to the power plant to sell before."

The energy ledger in the fields and at the edges of the land

We have made calculations and found that a medium-sized mobile pellet machine can process 20 tons of straw every day. Chen Lifeng, the technical director of JINRUIJIAJIA, opened his notebook, which was densely filled with experimental data from various places. "Based on the annual straw production of 500,000 tons in Shangshui County, if 30% is converted in the fields, it would be equivalent to adding 20 million yuan in income for farmers."

In Dafeng Farm in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, Li Weidong, a livestock farmer, has a more precise plan: "Feeding cattle with corn stalk pellets has reduced the feed cost by 15%. The cow dung can also be mixed with pellet waste for fermentation, and the biogas produced is enough for the entire farm to cook." Pointing at the granular bags being loaded onto the vehicle, he said, "Now all the farmers around are vying for them. My machine is running at full capacity every day."

"Running Granule Factory"

"Traditional pellet machines are like fixed production lines, while our equipment is a miniature factory on wheels." Chen Lifeng opened the side panel of the equipment, revealing a compactly arranged integrated structure for crushing, drying and pelletizing. "The entire process from straw feeding to pellet discharging is fully automated, and it can be operated by just two people."

At the mobile operation site in Fuyang, Anhui Province, this 2.8-ton machine is demonstrating "mobile stunts". Driver Lao Zhou gently turned the steering wheel, and the equipment smoothly passed over the ridge of the field. "The diesel engine with hydraulic drive will go wherever there is more straw. The transfer time does not exceed 20 minutes." He specifically pointed to the foldable collection hopper and said, "When unfolded, it can collect straw up to 3 meters wide, which is ten times more efficient than manual transportation."

The Technical Code in Particles

"Although the shell is made of ordinary steel plate, there are many cutting-edge technologies hidden inside." Chen Lifeng tapped the pelletizing cavity and said, "The dynamic roller pressing technology we have developed enables the moisture content of straw to be freely adjusted between 15% and 30%." He took out his mobile phone to show a comparison video: Ordinary equipment frequently lags due to humidity fluctuations, while JINRUIJIAJIA's machine always maintains a stable output of materials.

In the experimental field of Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, more cutting-edge technologies are being implemented. A solar-powered hybrid model will be launched next year. Chen Lifeng pointed at the prototype of the photovoltaic panel that was being debugged and said, "Use photovoltaic on sunny days and diesel on cloudy days, so that the machine can work 24 hours a day even in areas without power grids." He envisioned, "By then, herders will be able to turn alfalfa into pellets on the grassland, completely transforming the energy structure of the nomadic areas."

New Business Wisdom in the Field

"Nowadays, 60% of those who come to us to buy equipment are agricultural machinery cooperatives and 40% are breeding enterprises." Wang Fang, the sales director of JINRUIJIAJIA, opened the order book and said, "There was a customer in Tangshan, Hebei Province who bought three machines to form a mobile processing team. They made over 800,000 yuan during the autumn harvest season last year."

In the cooperative in Songyuan, Jilin Province, Zhao Dayong, the director, is doing the accounts for the members: "One machine costs 180,000 yuan. With a 30% government subsidy, the investment can be recouped in two years." Pointing at the mountain of pellet bags in the warehouse, he said, "These are going to be sold to biomass power plants. The price per ton is 200 yuan higher than that of bulk materials." What excited him even more was the new business. "Now, villagers from the surrounding areas all send their straw for processing. We charge a processing fee of 50 yuan per ton, which is another source of income."

The Future Picture of pellet machines

We are developing an online detection system for particle quality. Chen Lifeng led the reporter to visit the R&D center. Real-time data was flashing on the screen. "In the future, the density and hardness of each particle can be automatically recorded. Those that do not meet the standards will be directly remelted to ensure that 100% of the products leaving the factory meet the standards."
